30" x 60" Acrylic, Mixed Media & Textile. This painting is inspired by the feeling of sitting in a late-summer meadow, surrounded by grasses and wildflowers swaying in the warm breeze. Stems stretch upward toward the sky, always tangled, always moving, always reaching for the sunlight.

Built through layers of acrylic paint and mediums, the surface is rich with colour and texture. Fabric threads are embedded within the composition, echoing the delicate structure of stems and grasses

As the layers build, the flowers gradually emerge. I hope the painting brings a sense of calm, renewal, and joy. 

Kareen Hague is an experimental fine artist based in Markham, ON, whose work blends painting with tactile, textile-driven techniques.
