Sunset On Georgian Bay

Maria Iva is a landscape painter, who through the use of a palette knife, works in an impressionistic manner and employs a colourist approach. A nature lover and tireless hiker, Maria finds inspiration in exploring the provincial parks and conservation areas of Southern Ontario. Often sketching on location with dry pastels, she captures the light and feeling of each scene before creating her larger oil works in studio. The result is a series of textured pieces that celebrate the beauty of nature. Maria has participated in many exhibitions and juried shows and in 2023 wrote the article, “Sculpturing the Paint” featured in International Artist Magazine.
