Lori Fonger is a contemporary landscape artist from Toronto, Ontario working in acrylics. Before embarking on her artistic journey, Lori enjoyed a successful career in corporate marketing within the financial services industry as a consumer research consultant. She is now practicing art full-time. She has become known for her striking use of monochromatic color palettes and her ability to create simplified compositions that straddles the boundary between realism and abstraction. Using a restrained, monochromatic palette in muted blues and greys, along with simplified compositions, each painting offers the viewer a moment of pause and a sense of calm and serenity amidst the noise of daily life. Each piece contains soft, flowy brush strokes in the sky juxtaposed with thick impasto painting to create texture and movement in the water. Her artworks serve as a sanctuary, offering a refuge of tranquility and calm in an increasingly chaotic world. Her latest work is inspired by the lakes in cottage country.
