Julie Amlin is a Toronto-based artist and muralist who describes her art as visual poetry, where vivid palettes and animated brushwork act as language- a result of synesthesia, where her experience of music and emotion translates to colour and movement on her canvas.

She received her BFA from Concordia University. And while her creative career began in graphic design, she now works as a full time artist in Toronto, creating Fine Art (paintings), Public Art (murals) and Live Performance Art (events).

Visual threads of duality within her art connect both ease and energy in the same space, inviting viewers to oscillate between calm and chaos as well as recognition and imagination. This nuance is a commentary on our collective challenge of carrying both the beauty and burden of complex emotions through life.
