Chinook Salmon

Marvin is a self-taught, Canadian-born artist, currently living in Oakville, ON. His cultural background is Saulteaux Ojibwe, Treaty 2 Territory, Manitoba and he is a sixties scoop survivor. He spent his youth in foster homes and was adopted at age 14. In 2022, he decided to reclaim his cultural past through art, and in the spring of 2023, participated in the Indigenous Art Walk at Spencer Smith Park. With an editorial cartooning background, and having been published in the Toronto Sun, Winnipeg Free Press and Winnipeg Sun, Marvin now creates original paintings in ink, watercolour and acrylic. His works are also available in print format.
