A Green Bouquet

Helen Griffiths is a Burlington based artist who works in oil paint along with watercolour, gouache and acrylic. She finds inspiration in things that tell her a story and she translates them into still lifes, as well as portraits and landscapes.

Helen Griffiths has been living in Burlington for over 20 years. When she graduated from the Illustration program at Sheridan College, she worked for numerous years in the commercial arts profession, as well as raising two wonderful children. When her husband started his architectural design business in 2001, Helen started working with him part-time devoting the rest of her time to fine art. Helen has enjoyed painting her whole life, and has painted in watercolours, gouache and acrylics. On occasion she has experimented with encaustic and casein paint, but at the moment finds oil paints to be the medium through which she can express herself best.  Painting images that tell Helen a story to her, creates a varied portfolio of still life, portraits and landscapes, as well as images that perhaps are not reality… but could be.
