He participated on local, national and international judging panels \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003efor creative excellence and chaired the Advertising Creative Excellence Awards for 10 years. He is also a juried in \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003emember of the Colour and Form Society.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe started painting at the age of 18 and continued painting until he got sick from the fumes of the paints and \u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003esolvents used at the time and was forced to quit at about the age of 24 (1974). He did not pick up brushes again \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003euntil 2011 when he started working with water colours for the first time. He continued with them until the paint \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003ecompanies came up with a solution to the fumes and about 6 years ago switched over to the newer oils and hasn't \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003elooked back.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSince than he has sold numerous pieces across the country, as well as prints from his water colour days which have sold both across North America and Europe. People compare his works to those of Tom Thompson and others to Monet, regardless he just hopes people enjoy them. \u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003eLoving nature and the natural beauty of our great country Ron’s paintings are a little bit of selfindulgence.
